The challenge

How could npower meet its regulatory targets to provide domestic insulation solutions to under-privileged households? This was an ever more challenging task, even though there was no charge to end-user households that met the regulatory criteria.

Our approach

By engaging local community connectors to offer reassurance and recommendations we were able to overcome the root trust issue, and produce a supply of leads for the household insulation team. We focused initially on the British Indian community, which was well represented in the npower target areas.

By engaging communities with the message ‘npower Powering the Community Hall’, we introduced the npower sales team in person at community events with substantial footfall. There, they were able to identify householders for the insulation project and, as a bonus, potential energy supplier switchers as well.
