Community Connection Index.
Most organisations can tell you what they spend on community work. Far fewer can tell you what their community actually sees.
The Community Connection Index scores your business out of 100 on both. Six questions on how you approach community engagement, covering alignment, insight, authenticity, activation, measurement and trust. That is your view of yourself.
Then it does its own research, scanning your public footprint, your website, news coverage and published reports, for five signs of real local connection: prominence, sense of place, local voices, continuity and published outcomes. That is what everyone else can see.
It blends the two into a single score, and shows you exactly where they differ.

What you get back
A score out of 100, in one of four bands: Absent, Performing, Committed, Connected
A breakdown across all six dimensions, showing where your self-assessment and the outside evidence diverge
A confidence rating on the evidence found
An indicative comparison against others in your sector
Why the gap matters
It marks you on what your community can see, not on what you intended. That is the same standard your community applies, and it is usually less generous than the internal one.
A high self-score and a low evidence score is the most common result, and the most useful. It usually means the work is real but invisible, or that it was designed for an internal audience. Both are fixable, and both are cheaper to fix than starting again.
If the score raised questions, that is what we do.
